Recreating the work of long-time industry professionals is a great way to level up any skill. The original concept for this artwork was created by Jonas Minnebo and Alfie Garland. Here I recreate their work in Blender, changing the color and tone to bring a different feeling to the artwork. Efficiently analyzing and recreating the workflow of industry professionals has been my favorite way to grow as an artist.

After a blockout of the major shapes, a boolean workflow is used to accentuate the mechanical features. Large shapes such as the glass orb are made with a standard subd workflow. References play a key role in creating realistic materials for the glass and metals. After rendering, additional color adjustments are made in Photoshop.
